[PR] Delegate docIDRunEnd in AssertingScorer's two-phase iterator [lucene]
tballison opened a new pull request, #16512:
URL: https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/16512
While looking into how https://github.com/apache/lucene/pull/16450 escaped the randomized test suite, we found that the test framework itself makes this class of bug invisible to end-to-end tests. This PR would NOT have caught that, but we should fix this.
AssertingScorer.iterator() already delegates docIDRunEnd() to the wrapped iterator (with an assertion), but the anonymous TwoPhaseIterator returned by twoPhaseIterator() does not override it, so it always reports the conservative default (approximation().docID(), i.e. "no known matching
run").
