[FREEZE-ANNOUNCEMENT] Release 2.0.1
Hi Lenya devs,
7 days from now the code freeze for the release 2.0.1 will begin.
When the freeze starts, I suggest that I create a tag and set the
svn:externals to the Cocoon 2.1.11 release, so that we can use the tag
for testing. Is this OK for everyone?

IMO especially for security releases one should at least have a week for
testing and reviewing, otherwise we risk to open up another security
risk.

Actually any decision regarding this topic should go into our bylaws to
clarify our point in this issue.

This could not be an official release of the ASF since the backing comes
afterward. IMO one week is not too much to vote/freeze and meanwhile
prepare the release and testing.

+1
we really need a speedier procedure for maintenance releases imho.
right now, it's not too hairy, but imagine we had a security flaw to
address... do our rules allow immediate release if a certain number of
active committers have voted for it and there are no explicit vetoes?
like, annouce the release, ten out of fifteen committers say yes on the
same day, tarball goes out by next sunrise.
(generally, i don't want to induce lengthy bylaw discussions - my
approach would be "do it in breach of current procedure due to urgency,
and get a vote later on to give it solid backing"... all i want to avoid
is a project governance discussion when we have a security issue)

thanks for the spring cleaning!
i'll try and up my sites this weekend to get it tested.

I'd say leave it. I hopefully can do so more testing on it later today.
It will be a very nice feature for me to use, given how we've been doing
things.

I totally forgot that we have this feature :)
Should we leave it enabled in 2.0.1, or should we give it more testing
before releasing it? Since it's an admin and not an author task, IMO we
can release it and wait for responses. WDYT?

I've done some limited testing. In the process of trying to upgrade my
publications to it. I have not ran into any problems. The being able to
change the proxy settings on the fly worked just fine.

Any news here? Otherwise I'd start to create the tarballs and go on with
the release process.

Hi Lenya devs,
I added the RELEASE-NOTES.txt to the 2.0.1 tag. It would be great if you
could take a quick look at it and add missing features and bugfixes. TIA!
Did someone find the time to test the 2.0.1 tag?
