RE: [VOTE] Re: Did we come up with a repo for use with Turbine be sides

I guess the reason I +1'ed the vote was that I am finally done with my
commons-configuration changes that I need for Turbine. While I will get it
up on iBiblio, I have a feeling I may end up doing a couple more interations
before then. And to keep dumping snapshots on iBiblio just to share with
other developers seems like a drain on the maven folks time and ibiblio's
hard drive space!

Having said that, if no changes are required to commons-configuration in the
next day or two (which I devoutly hope!) then I will take you up on getting
the jar uploaded!

Hi,

did you read the whole thread? The idea was not to completely shut out
the ibiblio repo but to use the "multiple remote repository" feature
to allow all Turbine developers to quickly deploy a jar into this
which is needed to build the HEAD and then migrate these jars onto
ibiblio.

The problem is, that even if a few Turbine developers have upload
rights over there, there is still a delay in getting a jar onto
ibiblio. And in this time you can't e.g. check in a new change to the
HEAD, mainly because the jars for it are missing.

With an additional local repo, every turbine developer can check code
into the HEAD, throw the jar onto the local repo (where every Turbine
developer has write access to) and go on with productive work.

So, please reconsider your vote.
