Momentary lapse of judgment... ;-)

I committed this "temporarily" in order to restore the ability to build the
current xalan, with explicit directions to the author which coincidentally
matched exactly the advice I gave you a few months ago.

Unfortunately, bugzilla is down, can you send me either the patch or the
updated javadoc.java directly?
