I tested this API on Solr 9.1 through the Admin UI, on a 2-node cluser, by first creating a 1-replica collection, and then using UI to add a replica, selecting the other replica in the node dropdown.

As it works as it should, I'm closing this JIRA.

If you believe the issue still exists in currently supported versions of Solr (8.11 or 9.1), please re-open with updated instructions on how to reproduce.

The stack overflow link is broken, so I could not see the original complaint either.
