[jira] [Commented] (BIGTOP-3909) Define Bigtop 3.3 release BOM

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-3909?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17714842#comment-17714842 ]

caijialiang commented on BIGTOP-3909:
-------------------------------------

Has ranger 2.4 been considered for inclusion in the bigtop 3.3 roadmap? It fixes 80 bugs and has 5 new compatibility-related features compared to version 2.3. We have already performed a full integration test for version 2.4, and it has no issues apart from compilation problems and conflicts with the hbase package, which also affect version 2.3.

> I prefer release 3.3 instead of 3.2.1 for there may be some big changes in the next release:
> * New components like Ranger debian, bigtop-select (for Ambari) would be added into Bigtop support matrix.
> * Mpack would be removed if Ambari-2.8 was released first which integrated the Bigtop SW stack as its default stack.
> * OpenEuler support is under discussion.
> * Some components needed to be upgraded to fix some issues like gpdb.
