   I understood the rules of the ASF so, that if it is an essantial feature of a product it must not depend on a license, that is incompatible with the rules of the ASF. @jlahoda work went into that direction, namely making nbjavac non-essential and require the user to install it, if he/she wants to.
   
   If we need a javac, that can be distributed with netbeans and has advanced features for the IDE, we might want to look at eclipse java compiler, as [it is EPL licensed](https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/eclipse.jdt). The EPL is not optimal for an apache product, but is cleared ([Category B](https://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html#category-b)).
