Segfault on restart?
Well, I have been using mod_perl (CVS version) with Apache 1.3.12 for a
while, but suddenly somewhere since last week I am getting segfaults
while restarting Apache:

The only thing I have been changing is that I re-installed modperl and
embperl several times this week from CVS. Does that ring a bell with
anyone?

Well, it was not the weeks CVS changes, it was one innocent looking new
line in my startup.pl, namely a use Apache::File. I have tracked it down
to the fact that I had only pure perl modules in my startup.pl, but
Apache::File was the first to introduce a native xs module (Fcntl) into
the mix. If Apache::File is pulled in later in the running httpd nothing
bad happens at restart. I will probably have to rebuild everthing with
debugging symbols to see what is going on.

i just built apache modperl (with USE_DSO=1) from cvs, i can run:
% ../apache-1.3/src/httpd -d `pwd`/t -f `pwd`/t/conf/httpd.conf
% kill -HUP `cat t/logs/httpd.pid`
no segfaulting, what happens if you do that?
