The ldap3.Server and ldap3.Connection instances are created without connect_timeout or read_timeout parameters. If the LDAP server at ldap-eu.apache.org is slow, unresponsive, or unreachable due to a network partition, the thread executing auto_bind=True blocks indefinitely. Since LDAP lookups run via asyncio.to_thread(), each blocked lookup occupies a thread from the default executor (~20 threads). Twenty concurrent blocked lookups during an outage would exhaust the thread pool, blocking all other to_thread operations (file I/O, subprocess calls) and effectively DoS-ing the application.
