first steps for Synapse TLP
Apologies for cross-posting to general@ws, but I know people here have
more experience.
This is the JIRA I plan to raise with INFRA. I'm posting it here first
just to ensure people agree with the proposed email list names,
structure, etc, and also have I forgotten anything?

The board has agreed to create the Synapse top level project. It will
include the Synapse subproject, formerly under WS PMC.
To aid in the process, would the Infrastructure team please do the following:

[0] Root tasks:
Create unix group "synapse"
Create DNS entry synapse.apache.org and configure website server instance
#=======================================
[1] Mailing List (i) addresses
Please migrate the existing archives, subscribers and moderators to
the following lists:
private@synapse.apache.org (NEW)
general@synapse.apache.org (NEW)
users@synapse.apache.org from synapse-users@ws.apache.org
dev@synapse.apache.org from synapse-dev@ws.apache.org
commits@synapse.apache.org (NEW)
(iii) archives: please provide for merged archives for:
synapse-dev@ws merged with dev@synapse
synapse-user@ws merged with user@synapse
mbox
I. http://synapse.apache.org/mail/synapse/dev/YYYYMM.gz
II. http://synapse.apache.org/mail/synapse/users/YYYYMM.gz
III. http://synapse.apache.org/mail/synapse/commits/YYYYMM.gz

I guess I was just copying ws but that is very premature!
And I will add trailers - sounds like a good plan.
As for moderators, I'm waiting for volunteers on another thread.

postings. Do you plan to split Synapse into several sub-projects with
