Making Cocoon the default

The FAQ about making Cocoon the default app doesn't seem to
correspond with the content of server.xml in Tomcat 5.5.12
(there is no <context> element) as it has only been tested
with Tomcat 4.0.1 + Cocoon 2.0.2. I have Tomcat 5.5.12 and
Cocoon 2.1.8

There *is* a <Context> element in context.xml, but applying
the attributes suggested by the FAQ just crashes Tomcat.

I don't have an "application" -- at this stage I just built
the default war for testing, and moved cocoon.war into
Tomcat's webapps folder, where it works just fine with the
default setup, which I have running on port 80 as the sole
server (no httpd). But I do want to get rid of the /cocoon/ in all URIs
because on this server, *everything* will be
served from Cocoon.

Thank you! I knew there had to be an easy way.

have a look at
<http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/CocoonEasyInstallation>

If you don't want to default

     http://cocoon:8080/

then simply replace

     $tomcat_home/webapps/ROOT/

and rename your new default webapp to become ROOT.

Just set the Context Path to "".
Then Cocoon should get the default context.
