port must be TRUE or FALSE

Hi!
I try to install tomcat to work with apache. But when
I start the apache, I receive an error "port must be
TRUE or FALSE". It's about an entry in the
tomcat.properties-file (security.authentication). I
can nether set this to true nor to false (what I want
to do).
What's wrong?
When starting Apache I'm also told better to recompile
the mod_jserv. Could this be the fault? With JServ
alone it works.
