DO NOT REPLY [Bug 51600] New: Loading the same certificate in
multiple virtual hosts
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=51600
Bug #: 51600
Summary: Loading the same certificate in multiple virtual hosts
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.2.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: mod_ssl
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: martindiv@yahoo.com
Classification: Unclassified
Apache and mod_ssl (openssl) tracks the loading of a certificate (and
associated CA certs) by the common name (CN) of the certificate. If the same CN
is found in a later virtual host configuration the certificate is not loaded a
second time.
I would like to request that some sort of message gets logged to the error log
when this situation happens. I have run into this with servers where either a
wildcard cert is used in multiple virtual hosts or the server was just
misconfigured.
