issues about new contributors of an incubating project
Hi all,
as one of the contributors of the OFBiz project (currently in Incubator,
http://incubator.apache.org/projects/ofbiz.html), some time ago I've
sent a signed iCLA to the ASF, the iCLA has been recorded and I was
listed in the committers page
(http://people.apache.org/~jim/committers.html).
Then the infrastructure guys have created an account for me (jacopoc):
everything is ok, I can connect to people.apache.org and I've configured
it following the "guide for new committers".
However there are two issues:
1) my name is no more listed in the
http://people.apache.org/~jim/committers.html page
2) I have no rights to check out the committers resources
(https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers)
The same is true for the other contributors of the OFBiz project.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help and kind regards,
Jacopo

Upayavira, David,
thanks for your feedback.
ok, now the OFBiz's committers are again listed here
http://people.apache.org/~jim/committers.html
So I guess that in that page are only listed:
* persons with signed CLAs but that are not committers, i.e. with NO account
* persons with signed CLAs that are committers, i.e. with an account AND
that have commit access to AT LEAST ONE project
Still, I have no rights to co the SVN component with committers' resources:
svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers committers
But maybe I have just to wait a bit :-)
Thanks,
Jacopo

I went ahead and did that, are there any scripts or further steps that
need to happen to finalize it? It's not a rush - as Jacopo mentions,
the plan is to try and figure out the LGPL code before they migrate to
the ASF subversion... just to keep things cleaner.

Yes, I did.

I see: I think that this is the reason, we are resolving some LGPL
issues and so we have still not migrated our SVN to the Incubator's one.
Thanks,
Jacopo

Why your name is not showing on Jim's page, I don't know. However, it is
present in the necessary record in SVN, which is what matters.
For 2), have you logged into people.apache.org via SVN and set your SVN
password (using svnpasswd)?
Also, your mentor for the project needs to arrange for authorisation for
everyone to the relevant part of SVN. There is an ofbiz group present in
the authorisation file, but the group currently has no members, i.e
no-one can commit at the mo.
Regards, Upayavira
