   Can't wait to see this implemented.  We use kafka as our data backbone company-wide, and coordinating between different parts of the org is done through kafka topics.  Producing workflow status completion writes to kafka topics that are consumed by applications, triggering automated report generation, and delivered to external clients.  Then also tracking which clients get what data for CCPA and GDPR comms.
