LoadBalancer on Amazon EC2 gets stuck waiting for ports to be active.

Hi everyone

I'm using Apache Stratos 4.0.0, and testing cloud bursting/inter-cloud deployment in Openstack and Amazon EC2 instances with load balancer and php cartridges. When the load balancer is deployed on Openstack, everything works perfectly and it has no problem communicating with the php cartridges in both clouds.

However, if the load balancer is deployed on Amazon EC2, it's created and started without problems, but gets stuck with the following message on cartridge-agent.log:

INFO CartridgeAgentUtils Waiting for ports to be active: [IP] localhost [Ports] [80, 443]

Until it eventually timeouts. Note that this only happens with load balancer cartridges, php cartridges get activated fine.

I've annexed the php and load balancer configuration files, where could I start debugging to find out why load balancer and only the load balancer isn't working on one of the clouds?

Thank you for your time

Hi Ricardo,

Sorry for the delay..It seems that your loadbalancer server is not properly
coming up. Can you <LB-HOME>/repository/logs/wso2carbon.log(LB usually is
in /mnt/<ip>/) to see what has happened to load balancer server? Also, you
will need to make sure that whether loadbalancer server has been started by
puppet or init script based on your deployment pattern?

How are you starting the loadbalacer? Are you using puppet to start the
server or init script? If it is puppet, then you can check the puppet logs
in /tmp/puppet_log to see whether puppet staged everything successfully.

Please let us know, if you need more details on this...

Thanks,
Reka
