Tomcat integration test with Cargo?

Hi,

I found Cargo from the Apache maven web site. The URL is http://cargo.codehaus.org/Home.

It seems that we can use it to install/start/stop tomcat as well as deploy/undeploy applications. Is it a good fit? Has anyone tried it before?

Thanks,
Raymond

It's first time I heard about Cargo, so I'm not the best one to judge
it.....

I'm Not sure what your requeirements are, so, I just want to mention that
java/das/testing/tomcat does all these things + configuring datasources in
TC + integration test using htmlUnit to exercise DAS as a user to CompanyWeb
sample app using ant + maven (e.g you just need mvn to get all this install,
deploy, run)...

I've not tried it but I think it's a good way to go because it is
meant to support multiple server types. So hopefully if we base
deployment on the Cargo plugin then we should be able to reuse a lot
of configuration for testing on Jetty, Geronimo, ...

This does not replace things like htmlunit, but then I don't think we
need to be testing html, we can use SCA clients or XML/JSON data from
the server which is easier to validate.
