    I would like to get some feedback on this from the community, this has some potentially unwanted side-effects with regards to usage-tracking.  In the old code, the amount of space used by the snapshot backup was counted against the user as far as I can tell.  In this new one, if the snapshot is not backed up, the usage would be likely be considerably less.
