How to disable caching of files in local .svn directory ?

Hi All ,

Is there any way to disable(temparory/permanent) the caching of file in .svn
directory ? Just to reduce the size/time of checkout.

This doesn't seem to be possible. A related feature request:

  http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=908

Note: this would be very useful on mobile devices, where disk space
is very limited.
