attachments problem

I have develop a web service that save a file sent by client in filesystem
and return to client the file ID
The file are sent using attachments suystem but i have a problem: when i try
to send file bigger than 6M, client throws an java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:
Java heap space exception and doesn't receive the response parameter. but if
i go to see to the server side i see that the server receive all the file
sent by client.
Has somebody any idea to solve this problem?
