Sqoop2 status

Hi everyone,

as a "drive-by" contributor and long-time Sqoop user I was wondering if
anyone can give me an update on the Sqoop2 developments.

It seems as if development has slowed down considerably. Hortonworks
doesn't ship it, Cloudera deprecated it for CDH6.

I see some commits related to it but not a lot. I don't know anyone who's
using it either.

Looking for any kind of input you might have on Sqoop2.
