Java 1.7 required

Hi all,

As I was installing Ranger via Ambari, I was kind of surprised to see that in order to run Ranger needs Java 1.7 and no other version.
Is there a reason to such a requirement, or can we modify the install.properties file in order to use Ranger with Java 1.8 without any danger ?

Yes changing it to 1.8 should be fine.  If it doesn't then do post back with your findings.
