Might be worth looking into again since Hadoop 3 was upgraded to in SOLR-9515. We might be able up upgrade guava and not have to deal with older version as long as the code paths we need aren't affected. HADOOP-10101 and HADOOP-15272 and HADOOP-15960 might have some pointers there.
