[I] bug(desktop): assistant response glyphs are clipped at the left edge [maka]
Sun-GLiang opened a new issue, #4898:
URL: https://github.com/apache/maka/issues/4898
## What happened
In Maka Desktop, the first character of each line in an assistant response can be clipped at the left edge. For example, the left vertical stroke of `P` may be missing, and Chinese characters can show the same partial-glyph clipping.
This is visible in screenshots and also reproduces in a local Desktop build.
Expected behavior: assistant response text should render complete glyphs. Characters must not be clipped by the Markdown or message-bubble boundary.
## How to reproduce
Using the existing Storybook fixture:
1. Check out current `main`.
2. Install dependencies and start Desktop Storybook:
```sh
npm ci
npm run build:workspace-deps --workspace @maka/desktop
npm run storybook --workspace @maka/desktop
```
3. Open `product-shell-official-appshell--partial-history-notice`.
4. Inspect the assistant responses in the transcript.
5. Observe that the left side of the first character on each line is clipped.
The issue can also be observed in the Desktop app by opening a conversation containing multiline assistant output.
## Environment
- Maka commit: `upstream/main` @ `c0229b0c6`
- OS and version: macOS 15.6, Apple Silicon
- Surface: Desktop
- Electron: 43.4.1
- Node.js: v24.19.0
- Locale: zh-CN
## Logs, screenshots, or additional context
The regression was introduced by commit
[`d2d9f9060c0479827b638c83aed02288c53252ca`](https://github.com/apache/maka/commit/d2d9f9060c0479827b638c83aed02288c53252ca):
```text
perf(desktop): bound rendering within oversized turns (#4259)
```
An A/B build confirms the regression:
- Parent commit `2bfea3c32`: the first character renders completely.
- Commit `d2d9f9060`: the first character is clipped.
That commit adds `data-maka-transcript-boundary="default"` to `AssistantAnswerBubble` and applies:
```css
.maka-chat-message-list [data-maka-transcript-boundary] {
content-visibility: auto;
contain-intrinsic-block-size: auto 96px;
}
```
The resulting paint-containment boundary begins at exactly the same horizontal position as the Markdown text. Glyph pixels extending beyond that boundary are therefore clipped.
The earlier commit `c33617fd8`, which introduced `content-visibility` on the outer Turn, does not reproduce this specific clipping by itself.
