Error: Could not parse response status

I keep getting the following error on three different PC's for the
last week or so. 2 PC's from work, and 1 from home. One day it was
working, and the next it didn't. I haven't change anything on my PC.
I normally just do a "svn update" command. When I got this error, I
thought to try a flesh checkout, which also doesn't work.

------------------------------------------
graemeg@porky:~/temp/svn$ svn co http://svn.freepascal.org/svn/fpc/trunk fpc
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn/fpc/trunk'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn/fpc/trunk': Could not parse response status
line. (http://svn.freepascal.org)
------------------------------------------

I got no idea what this error message means. First I thought that the
FPC and Lazarus repositories were upgraded to a new version, and my
SVN client couldn't speak to it, so I upgrade to the latest 1.3
release. Still no change.

I asked if any of the other FPC and Lazarus developers are
experiencing this issue. It seems it is only from my side. I can
access other SVN repositories via the HTTP protocol without any
issues.

Can anybody explain what this error message means, and if possible,
how to resolve it. Can the svn client create some detailed output
while communicating, so I can get a better idea of the problem?

Regards,
