Contribute to Archiva

Hi

I am Nishant Srivastava, an Android Dev/Interaction Designer.

I have recently started using archiva and its an awesome tool. I would
however want to update the UI of the webapp it uses , but i can't seem to
find  any docs on how can i start building this from the source code. I did
lookup on github the repository <https://github.com/apache/archiva> but
could not find a guid to help me with building form source code. I would
just like to know the basic steps to get it to run from source code on my
Mac OSX. Also if it works well enough i would want to contribute it back to
the archiva repo, so i would also want to know the process involved to
contribute as in what all is needed before i need to send a pull request.

If its not possible , then also please keep me updated.
