   +1 for using a non-concurrent parallel GC, this is usually the right choice for throughput maximizing background processes.
   
   `-XX:GCTimeRatio=4` will allow the JVM to use up to 20% of the execution time for GC (`1/(1+N)`).  I suppose this is done to reduce shrink/grow hysteresis.
   
   Worth keeping an eye on it to check if this is causing any trouble. Memory on the client is cheap. In the cloud it depends on what service you are running on. Some give you memory on a per-core basis etc.
