If one want to index an existing attribute while the server already has been feed with entries containing some values for this attribute will simply ignore the existing values.

We may want to add an extended operation to rebuild the index on the fly, but this would be complicated, because all the modification done on entries using this index will have to be stored somewhere until the index is built, then reapplied. Not that simple...
