[jira] [Created] (SPARK-18751) Deadlock when SparkContext.stop is called in Utils.tryOrStopSparkContext

Shixiong Zhu created SPARK-18751:
------------------------------------

Summary: Deadlock when SparkContext.stop is called in Utils.tryOrStopSparkContext
                 Key: SPARK-18751
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-18751
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Spark Core
    Affects Versions: 2.0.2, 1.6.3
            Reporter: Shixiong Zhu
            Assignee: Shixiong Zhu

When SparkContext.stop is called in Utils.tryOrStopSparkContext (the following three places), it will cause deadlock because the stop method needs to wait for the thread running stop to exit.

- ContextCleaner.keepCleaning
- LiveListenerBus.listenerThread.run
- TaskSchedulerImpl.start
