[jira] [Created] (GEODE-3212) Spike: How to migrate non persistent
region to persistent region without data loss.
Fred Krone created GEODE-3212:
---------------------------------
Summary: Spike: How to migrate non persistent region to persistent region without data loss.
Key: GEODE-3212
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GEODE-3212
Project: Geode
Issue Type: Task
Components: persistence
Reporter: Fred Krone
Context
After PCC releases with persistence support a customer would have an option to enable that with new regions. We need to understand how users can migrate old regions and change their type?
Also, how can PCC switch on persistence with SSC region which is their internal region?
Question:
Assume I have a PCC version 1.1.x cluster with both an ssc and a non-ssc region. I want to upgrade to PCC 1.2 and persist both regions, what steps are necessary?
Steps:
manually migrate non-ssc
manually migrate ssc
manually migrate when there is non-persisted pdx? (this might change is we can gaurantee pdx has been persisted)
capture all steps
PCC is requesting one Storage engineer to pair for the day.
This ticket may generate other tickets for Storage.
