   I agree, and the crack is probably in Calcite. `IN` is a good place to look, because it often causes problems - we have to remember to do a particular rewrite to expand it.
   
   I'm curious that the expression has been internally rewritten to `COUNT(DISTINCT $2) FILTER $3`. I don't remember that rewrite going into Calcite. (It's a good one, though.)
