Example of XSLX file showing the issue

I publish a Javascript library that provides the option to export data from an
HTML table as an XLSX file -
http://datatables.net/extensions/buttons/examples/html5/simple.html .

The file that it produces is basic - probably about as basic as it is possible
to get an XLSX file. Excel and LibreOffice will open it no problem, but Apache
OpenOffice.org shows an empty spreadsheet when opening the file.

I've looks through the open issues bug can't see anything directly related.
There is 62752 but that was closed back for OOo 2.

Is there some way to get debug information from OOo which shows any errors on
importing the file?

I missed that completely. Was basing my search on "empty" rather than "blank"!
