[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-6490) Automatically reconnect shell
session if remote died
Lars Volker created IMPALA-6490:
-----------------------------------
Summary: Automatically reconnect shell session if remote died
Key: IMPALA-6490
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-6490
Project: IMPALA
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Clients
Affects Versions: Impala 2.12.0
Reporter: Lars Volker
Assignee: Lars Volker
If the remote impalad dies while the shell waits for a command to complete, the shell disconnects. After restarting the remote impalad (e.g. in a dev environment), it is necessary to re-connect the shell by running "connect;". The shell should automatically try to re-connect in those cases.
I added this while working on a different patch and will push a change shortly.
