We are not able to see the custom message when using Putty as SFTP Client. 

We have implemented "DetailedSftpErrorStatusDataHandler" for custom message display.

But still on putty we see generic failure message.  as - remote open("/test.txt"): Failure

Same is working with the WinScp and Filezilla.

 

Please see the attached references for custom message as well as the custom class implementation.
