Cellar don't save the newly created group settings
I have a question about cellar cluster:group features as follows:
1. install a new fresh copy of Karaf on a MacOS X machine
2. type the following commands:
> features:addUrl
mvn:org.apache.karaf.cellar/apache-karaf-cellar/2.3.2/xml/features
> features:install cellar
After that I pretend a new cluster group:
> cluster:group-create test01
> cluster:group-join test01
karaf@root> cluster:group-join test01
Group Members
* [test01 ] [192.168.28.163:5701* ]
* [default ] [192.168.28.163:5701* ]
karaf@root> cluster:group-list
Group Members
* [test01 ] [192.168.28.163:5701* ]
* [default ] [192.168.28.163:5701* ]

karaf@root> shutdown
Then, I quit Karaf and restart it again.
Type the following command:
cluster:group-list

The new group test01 is not shown again and find the following errors by
running "display" command:

Hi Tom,
as you can see, the groups property only contains default. That's why at
restart the node is only in the default group.
Let me try to reproduce your scenario to see why the groups list is not
updated in the config file.

I try to clean up the data folder, restart Karaf v2.3.3 and then install
cellar again, do the following steps:
1. Start Karaf, create a new cluster group called "test", and then shutdown
Karaf.
2. Restart Karaf again, find that cluster group "test" is shown in the
cluster group list.
3. and then create another cluster group called "test2", shutdown Karaf and
restart Karaf again
4. fire cluster:group-list to show the cluster group list.
5. find that cluster group "test2" is not inlcuded in the cluster group
list.
Sometimes, cluster:group-create may create and save the new cluster group.
Somtimes, it cannot save the newly cluster group.

Regarding the cluster group, it works for me.
Did you clean up the data folder ?
When you did a cluster:group-list, you see the list of groups (before the
restart) ?

Still cannot save the newly created group setting.
I did the following steps:
1. install a fresh copy of Karaf v2.3.3 on a Windows Platform.
2. edit etc/config.properties to make felix.fileinstall.enableConfigSave =
true
3. root> features:addUrl
mvn:org.apache.karaf.cellar/apache-karaf-cellar/2.3.2/xml/features
4. root> features:install cellar
5. type the following command to create a cluster group:
root> cluster:group-create test
6. type "display" command to show the following error:

do you use Karaf 2.3.3 ?
Actually, I reproduced your issue but it's not due to Cellar itself, it's
due to a change in Karaf 2.3.3 (a very bad change as it changes the default
behavior about ConfigAdmin storage for all config instead of one as
expected).
With Karaf 2.3.3, you have to change the following property in
etc/config.properties:
felix.fileinstall.enableConfigSave = true

do you use Karaf 2.3.3 ?
Actually, I reproduced your issue but it's not due to Cellar itself,
it's due to a change in Karaf 2.3.3 (a very bad change as it changes the
default behavior about ConfigAdmin storage for all config instead of one
as expected).
With Karaf 2.3.3, you have to change the following property in
etc/config.properties:
felix.fileinstall.enableConfigSave = true
