[jira] [Created] (DAFFODIL-2091) DFDL Spec - Merge Errata and unimplemented features into a Daffodil-specific version.

Michael Beckerle created DAFFODIL-2091:
------------------------------------------

Summary: DFDL Spec - Merge Errata and unimplemented features into a Daffodil-specific version.
                 Key: DAFFODIL-2091
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DAFFODIL-2091
             Project: Daffodil
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Documentation
    Affects Versions: 2.3.0
            Reporter: Michael Beckerle

Users currently have to juggle the DFDL spec, the Errata document, and the Daffodil unimplemented features page. A user basically has to memorize the errata and unimplemented features so that when they are reading the DFDL spec they can implicitly apply knowledge of these other documents.

This is really pretty unreasonable.

We should maintain a rolling version of the DFDL spec., which has change-tracking (relative to the official spec.), and which has all errata integrated, and visually identifies all features that are unimplemented by Daffodil.  This would be MUCH easier for people to use.
