Hi Henry,

I have modified my original proposal to use the RocketMQ Connect Runtime in
my new draft:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/10zo__rwoyzSQ8I-cEWvyvJGmGnKMkfLWUD2LzdfNdV8/edit?usp=sharing

I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Thanks,

I agree, I missed the existing RocketMQ Connect framework completely. Did
you want me to refactor my proposal to use the RocketMQ Connect framework
before submitting? The alternative is to submit the proposal as is and
change it as required when we start working on the implementation.

Thanks,
Badrul

Re: Proposal for GSoC 2020

Posted by heng du <du...@apache.org>.
Hi, Badrul,

Very sorry for the late reply, and I have read your proposal carefully, and
you did a great job, but there are some suggestions for you:

(1) We can start by implementing source connect, and then implement sink
connect if we have more time.
(2) In the process of implementation, some issues of the Connect Runtime
<https://github.com/apache/rocketmq-externals/tree/master/rocketmq-connect>
may be found at the same time. I hope we can polish it together.
(3) In this project, you should not care about the specific implementation
of message sending or receiving, because these are hidden by Connect
Runtime, you only need to care about how to get and analyze the data of
Cassandra.

And would you like to submit this proposal to the GSoC website?

Thanks,
Henry
