Are there mirror sites one may download the latest version of OO? Never completes the download from SF.

 where are you based? This is the first issue we had, can you kindly
provide me more info about the problem?

When the download starts from SourceForge, there should be a SourceForge page that provides some advertising and also says at the top how to choose alternative mirrors.  On English pages it is the "mirror" link in this sentence: "Problems with the download? ... or try another mirror."
