square bracket getting added to the URL

Hi ,

i m trying to post a HTTP request with a given URL. When i ran the
request i see a square bracket getting added to the URL. i am getting
a java.net.URISyntaxexception

http request url: xyz.intranet.xyz.com:7300/abc

path: /login

request sent is http://[xyz.intranet.xyz.com:7300/abc]/path

kindly let me know where i am wrong. i m new to jmeter.
