Solr has a 'benchmark' module that integrates JMH and makes it easy to craft microbenchmarks of Solr code.

There's been a lot of discussion lately of Solr's startup performance, so a JMH benchmark of the startup process should be helpful for better profiling and understanding the actual bottlenecks there.
