pdf file version 1.2 vs 1.4

Hi group,

I am a new user of PDFBox and have come up with a problem that is not apparent to me.

I have attached 2 files, one created with pdf ver 1.2 and the other with 1.4

PDFBox is able to process the 1.2 file, the resulting page is as expected.

When processing the 1.4 file, the resulting page is blank, just white.


It is not clear as to why this is occurring, would anyone please inspect these files and advise
what the problem could be?
