James Hartig updated CASSGO-43:
-------------------------------
Change Category: Operability
Complexity: Challenging
Status: Open (was: Triage Needed)
> Support externally-defined types
> --------------------------------
>
> Key: CASSGO-43
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSGO-43
> Project: Apache Cassandra Go driver
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: Core
> Reporter: James Hartig
> Assignee: James Hartig
> Priority: Normal
>
> Databases that implement CQL might provide other types than the built-in Cassandra types. Currently they must fork the driver to have those types be supported. Instead we could provide a way to register types and use that same method for internal types. This should also help simplify the current type handling.
