[jira] Created: (OPENJPA-501) Configuration control over spec-compliance strictness

Configuration control over spec-compliance strictness
-----------------------------------------------------

                 Key: OPENJPA-501
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-501
             Project: OpenJPA
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: jpa
    Affects Versions: 1.0.1, 1.0.0, 0.9.7, 0.9.6, 0.9.0, 1.0.2
            Reporter: Patrick Linskey

OpenJPA supports a number of extensions beyond what is provided in the spec. Some of these are in the form of additional APIs, but others are in the form of JPQL syntax, XML parsing, and other non-Java-validatable constructs. It would be useful to provide configuration options to control the level of spec compliance. This issue serves as an umbrella to track such configuration options.
