Much as I hate to bring this back up, what's the final consensus on
this? I really do see it as a subtle bug in Apache that needs to be
fixed (for those of us that use ExtendedStatus on while using
mod_vhost_alias, anyway... nobody else notices).
It's coming down to code freeze time, and I think this should be
included in 1.3.10...

I'd prefer your patch if it attempted to respect the UseCanonicalName
setting. However the whole thing is a bit messy because isn't possible
to do this completely correctly owing to per-directory configuration.
