There should be a dedicated documentation page below http://jackrabbit.apache.org/filevault/ explaining InstallHooks (both embedded JARs and referencing external classes) together with an explanation of the phases for which the execute method is being triggered (http://jackrabbit.apache.org/filevault/apidocs/org/apache/jackrabbit/vault/packaging/InstallHook.html)
