Help!
I have been using Open office for several years.
All of a sudden it marks all the words in a letter as misspelled. I like
using the spell check but this is ridiculous. I have tried everything I
can think of.
I have windows 7 and HP.

Could your language setting have been struck by a bolt of lightning and switched to Swahili?

"All of a sudden" really does not supply enough info.
1. "OO for several years": same OS, upgrades, other apps installed
during those years?
Guaranteed something changed on your box, key is to check/triage the
changes.
Check: 'options>Language settings> writing aids' for dictionary and
language model settings.
