[jira] [Commented] (AMBARI-6690) Hosts emit : Host Role Invalid State

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-6690?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14502600#comment-14502600 ]

Zoltán Marić commented on AMBARI-6690:
--------------------------------------

Hello! I just experienced this problem using Ambari 2.0.0. All my hosts were shut down (the physical machines, including the ambari server). I started them all at the same time. All of the services were in a warning state and restarting them in the Ambari gave this error (host role invalid state).

Running {{sudo ambari-agent}} didn't resolve the problem.

The hosts are in a network with dhcp and their IP addresses may and do change when the machines are restarted (their host names are preserved).

> At times hosts move to Invalid state and restart of components throw "Host role in invalid state".
> One way to fix this issue is to ssh into the hosts and run ambari-agent restart
> http://hortonworks.com/community/forums/topic/host-role-in-invalid-state/
> Ambari web interface being single point to manage cluster must provide option to restart ambari-agent. It looses its purpose if one has to manually ssh into the hosts.
