[jira] Commented: (WICKET-346) Bad font

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WICKET-346?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#action_12479345 ]

Nathan Hamblen commented on WICKET-346:
---------------------------------------

This would be a better font-family line for the site:

font-family: 'Lucida Sans Unicode', 'Lucida Sans', 'Lucida Grande', Lucida, LucidaSans, sans-serif;

Lucida Sans is included with Java, and apparently doesn't render so great in Cleartype. The Unicode variant has been included in Windows for a long time, so if that's first it should nullify the problem. Mac OS comes with Grande, but it doesn't have have any problem with Lucida Sans if that's present. Finally, if no Lucida font is available it's probably better to go straight to the default sans-serif instead of Helvetica, it being so much narrower.

> The font on the site in its current size gets rendered in a rather bad quality in Firefox ("holes" in some letters). It gets better when I change the font size in the browser (CTRL + / CTRL -). This is not the case in MSIE or Opera, where the font is in good shape.
> I'll attach a screenshot.
