[VOTE] Release Apache SedonaDB 0.5.0-rc0
Hello,
I would like to propose the following release candidate (rc0) of Apache
SedonaDB [0] version 0.5.0. This is a release consisting of 138 resolved
GitHub issues from 17 contributors [1].
This release candidate is based on commit:
751453f04cd6e09842adf3073b2b3dac7d1777bc [2]
The source release rc0 is hosted at [3].
Please download, verify checksums and signatures, run the unit tests, and
vote on the release. See [4] for how to validate a release candidate.
The vote will be open for at least 72 hours.

Apologies for the delay getting this out!
With 4 binding +1s (including mine, which I forgot to cast!), the vote
carries.
I've updated the crates on crates.io as well as the packages on PyPI
(conda-forge was updated automatically via bot PR). We've merged the
release update post [1] which should be available shortly.

[X] Checked LICENSE and NOTICE; Apache RAT reports no unapproved licenses
[X] Ran dev/release/verify-release-candidate.sh 0.5.0 0 on macOS 26.6
arm64 (M1 Max, GDAL 3.13.1, --features bindgen): all Rust and Python
tests passed
Minor and non-blocking: NOTICE still reads "Copyright 2025"; it could be
updated to 2025-2026 in a future release.
