--- Comment #12 from Rainer Bielefeld <ra...@bielefeldundbuss.de> ---
NOT reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958
2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User
Profile used for all predecessor versions.

I have that version installed, and word.doc documents were associated to MS
WORD viewer in WIN system settings. In WIN Explorer and WIN File Properties
dialog as expected a WORD icon was shown.

Then I changed association in WIN file Explorer to OOo writer, afterwards in
Win File Explorer and WIN File Properties dialog as expected the icon as shown
in Edwin's "112256icon.png"

So the result of the tests is that
* There was a Problem in OOo 3.2.1, what still is visible and can't be fixed
  for that version
* The problem is FIXED for 4.0.1 (may be more early), in all situations
appropriate Icon without ODF string for .doc files will be shown:
** 3.3.0 still in situation you see in my screenshot still shows wrong ODF
    file format icon
** AOO 4.0 already shows correct application related Icon in situation you
    see in my screenshot

So this one is FIXED for 4.0.1

There are some different possible issues, so I am not very happy with that
current icon shown in Edwin's "112256icon.png". That icon tells nothing about
the application (= AOO Writer) what will open that document by default. IMHO
something similar to the Writer Icon in AOO Start center (what is also used in
WIN - 'Open With' dialog. But that is something different, here we are talking
about Icon with "ODF" in it for .doc.
